About

Chat with usAbout usAs a society, we believe music is fundamental to our expressiveness. There is a vast selection of talented musicians at UWL, who could come together and create something new and inspiring as members of the UWL Performance Society. We look to develop our members musical skills and stage presence, in an environment with a more 'hands on' approach. We will hold meet ups with exchange of knowledge about performance techniques and ideas, open mic nights, auditions for players aiming to play live, as well as planned workshops and rehearsals and social networking events, such as: live gigs, pub gatherings, showcasing events and society live events.Develop your musical presence and add to your course development, opening up unique and interesting opportunities to help you in your future career path. The year membership for the performance society covers the costs of your entry to our events over the year. This includes pub nights, live events, auditions, workshops and jams. It also allows you to use university instruments and equipment in rehearsals and on stage.MembershipYour membership fee goes towards the events that we put on as a community as well as sourcing experienced professionals to come in and share their knowledge through our workshops. As a member not only will you get the opportunity to start performing around London (if COVID allows it) but you will meet a great community of like-minded musicians who you can collaborate with and share great memories.£5Events and ActivitiesAs a society, we aim to give you the opportunity to collaborate with other musicians, societies and groups as much as possible. This will involve live performances, ensemble sessions and showcasing events. We would also like to explore working with other societies such as Dance, Live sound, Musical theatre and many others. This gives us a broader spectrum of musicians and performers as possible to engage with.We aim to give society members as many opportunities to perform as possible. For us to achieve this, we hope to book rooms for rehearsal sessions, book live performance spaces such a Lawrence Hall (Ealing Campus) and smaller venues including pubs and Music Venues.Contact UsYou are welcome to direct message the society through our Facebook (UWL Performance Society) page, Instagram (@uwlperformancesociety) page, or email us at uwlperformancesociety@gmail.com if you have any questions to ask or are looking to join the society. If you are a new member we can then add you to our WhatsApp group and private Facebook group. Our chats are where we will set up casual events and meetups, whereas our private Facebook page will be used for formal meetings, and to give information on rehearsals and live events etc. COMMITTEE POSITIONS AVAILABLEBelow are the positions available when putting yourself forward for a committee position.
