Nepalese Society

Queen Mary, University Of London (QMUL)

QMNSoc formed in December 2009 is about celebrating the Nepalese culture and tradition. This is the society for you if you're up for socialising and meeting people from various backgrounds or learning about Nepal, a small country but extremely diverse with 75 districts, 102 different castes and ethnic groups. We also provide information about volunteering opportunities in Nepal, an incredible way to experience the country, culture and people that will also help you gain many skills so you can stand out in the work field. We host various social events throughout the year from freshers welcome dinner, Diwali & Tihar festival celebrations, leavers farewell dinner held at Nepalese restaurants within London, house parties & many more. Our annual Hamro Nepal event is held at the end of every year where the money raised goes towards a charity group of our choice. It is an acoustic & cultural show with singing and dance performances by students in the first and third year. We also welcome external students to perform and if you're interested please do message us on our Facebook page.Nepalese society is where we come together as a group of small family to share our pride and enjoy the Nepalese culture. We warmly welcome those who are interested in celebrating this with us despite of his or her cultural origins. With committee members both Nepalese and non-Nepalese, we aim to create a friendly, warm environment! Keep updated by following us on our facebook page here  President: Silija MaboVice President: Ronisha RaiTreasurer: Simon GurungSocial Media Director: Lisara Bhujel
