Mental Health Society

City, University Of London

About

The Mental Health Society was established with one ambition in mind, to encourage students that study here at City, University of London in 'Being Good To Yourself'. There can be many meanings behind this. Caring about yourself a bit more, exposing yourself to factors with good meaning or just avoiding pushing yourself to the very edge by various means which are not related to self harm. At the end of the day, people and especially students should not keep their struggles tucked away somewhere that they don't see fit to talk about and not to seek help. It is okay to feel down, it is okay to 'not feel right' and it is okay to feel anything but happy. We, like yourselves want you to feel good about you and that there is someone out there you can reach out to so that you feel a good sense of security around you. The society will: - provide a safe space for students so they can be open about their struggles -work with the fantastic mental health services at university to raise awareness about the importance of good mental health-encourage students who come to us with struggles to seek necessary help.
