King's Takes on Cancer

Every year, over 350k people are diagnosed with cancer in the UK and 45% of these cases are fatal. Many of us have gone through losing someone close to our hearts due to this widespread disease. Eradicating cancer is a mountain, which researchers all around the world have been climbing for decades. But what can WE do, students of KCL, to help contribute to this quest? At KTOC, we believe there are direct actions we can take to be part of this fight against cancer. Our goal is two-fold: Raise awareness about the issueRaise funds to foster cancer research at KCL’s hospitals  Our researchers are at the front lines of this battle. By organizing events such as 5k runs, talent shows, galas and others, let’s raise incremental funds to support their work. As a team, we’ll brainstorm ideas to come up with innovative and fun events which will get as many people involved as possible. We’ll then work hard to make these events happen.In the long term, we aim to build a strong community of students, and more importantly friends, to help spur KCL’s cancer research.We’ve got work to do, join us!
