KCL Political Economy Society

King's College London (KCL)

About

At the crossroads of politics and economics, the Political Economy Society at King’s College London was born a few years ago to provide spaces of discussion to intellectually challenge students and alumni from within and outside our university. Inspired by the current transformations happening at the core of the global society’s political and social culture and its intertwined economies, we question how the different forces and actors shape the world in which we are evolving. More precisely, our key mission is to inform and inspire better policymaking in practice by extending and challenging the understanding of people, governments, organizations and markets and the economic, political, social, cultural and technological context in which they operate worldwide. This year, we want our society’s approach to be dual. On the one side, we want to organize events that address current, pressing and thematically-based issues to answer the questions we have about the changes we are actually experiencing. On the other side, we want to create a range of regional and/or country-based discussions that will analyse more in-depth ongoing processes in those areas. If we had to sum up the goal of KCL’s Political Economy Society for the upcoming academic year, we would say we aim at investigating the political-economic drivers of changes in our society - and we would like you to be part of it too!
