About

Welcome to Queen Mary Cricket Club. We are a student-led club based at QMUL, and welcome players of all abilities and study levels, from first-years undergraduates to Masters students, from beginners to county-level players. Our club is relatively small, and we have a close-knit group of players, many of whom have played for the club throughout their university studies. In terms of competitions, we compete in both indoor and outdoor leagues throughout the academic year. In the first semester we play in the BUCS indoor league against other teams from London and South-East England. In 2018 we made it to the national finals day of this competition, and we would love to replicate this success again. In the summer term we compete in BUCS outdoor 50 over games against other London institutions, with these games taking place between April and June.Another very popular competition is the Indoor Social League, which takes place on Thursday nights on the Mile End campus, and involves QM students from various different society teams playing against each other in a league. This is our main recreational offer, and is always extremely popular amongst all of our students, so be sure to get involved. In the wake of coronavirus, some of our advertised events and competition may be subject to change or cancellation, so please feel free to join our Facebook group and keep in touch with our committee members for more information.Taster SessionDate and time: TBC - Last week of September.Format: Net session followed by fitness and fielding drills.Equipment needed: Training kit/sports clothing, cricket kit if they have it.Selection process: All those who join the club will be able to train and improve. Players will be pencilled in for indoor and outdoor squads as a primary source of information. This means that from the start the coach along with the indoor and outdoor captains will know roughly how many people could make either or team.
