Who we are: UCL Art Society provides a creative community through which like minded individuals can look at, talk about and make art together. Art Society is here for everyone, regardless of your degree, your past experience or artistic style; whether you have never picked up a pencil except for sudoku, or have been painting masterpieces since you were five. If you're here to explore or make art casually, you'll love our classes and events. There's always something going on! If you're a serious aspiring artist, we have an incredible amount of resources to be able to support you and many opportunities to help you develop and showcase your work. What we do: Amongst the activities that we run are weekly tutored life drawing sessions, gallery visits, oil painting/ sculpture courses and a wide range of one-off workshops and artmaking events. Tutors for our events are professional but our activities are still the cheapest you'll find anywhere*. With us you'll find the most diverse range of art activities of all university art societies in London. If you think anything is missing, make sure to let us know and we can probably make it happen.Aside from our classes there's plenty of chances to meet and chat with other UCL artists at our monthly socials, trips to gallery lates and much more. During the year we run projects making art for other societies or publications. We celebrate the end of our year with our annual exhibition to which you can contribute as an artist, curator and/or spectator at the private view — always a really fun night! *you can participate in our life drawing classes for just 3 pounds on-the-door! We only charge for life drawing and special workshops where there are extra materials, tutor and/or model expenses. Ticketed course prices vary according to costs- we're proud to say we can typically charge around 10 times lower than London art schools for courses taught by the same tutors. You can always email us with any questions or suggestions and find more info on our website.
