Description

This is an engineering role and this scheme is aimed at growing the best creative technologists for broadcasting. You’ll undertake work placements in the BBC’s engineering team at your base in order to gain an understanding of the systems involved in the production and broadcast of BBC output, and the diverse technologies that make this possible. You will work with technical teams in the support and maintenance, planning, design, development, integration, commission and testing of broadcast systems.

You will get the opportunity to undertake blended learning through a series of on line and face to face teaching, including:

  • Network Technology
  • Studio and Broadcast Technology
  • Professional Development, Engineering Practice and Research
  • Signal Compression and Encoding
  • Broadcast Systems Integration

You’ll like fixing things, or designing and building things yourself. Requirements

Do you hold a degree (at least a 2:2 or equivalent) in Electronics, Computer Science or a closely related subject, or expect to achieve one by September 2023?Is your academic achievement coupled with a high level of mathematical reasoning skills?Can you bring a sound knowledge of audio, video and broadcasting principles and an understanding of the demands of a broadcasting environment? (desirable, not essential)Are you able to demonstrate a personal interest in the creative elements of media and technology?
