Description

We are now looking for an inspiring woman for our Women in Tech Placement Student - Software Engineer to join #TeamGreen in the UK. The role can be based from our Manchester-HQ, or remotely across the UK.

Matillion is built around small development teams with responsibility for specific themes and initiatives. Each team is a mix of engineers with various levels of skills and experience whom you will be learning from on a daily basis.

Responsibilities

Working within a team to write, test and release new features and fix problems in the Matillion productsSpend almost all of your time hands-on in the production of software for Matillion productsDevelopment of UI, based on mockups following UX guidelinesDevelopment and improvements in confirmation testing (unit tests, integration tests, API tests, automation, etc.)Work alongside other engineers to refine and break down user stories for developmentOffer knowledge of planned work to help plan sprintsOffer thoughts and suggestions in retrospectives

Requirements

A current StudentAbility to work as part of a teamDemonstrable Java programming ability with some understanding of underpinning techniquesObject Oriented Design and ProgrammingBasic understanding of Databases and query languages (SQL)Basic understanding of APIsBasic understanding of the software development life cycleBasic knowledge of Amazon Web Service, Redshift, Snowflake, BigQueryAgile methodologies such as Kanban and ScrumBasic understanding of React Typescript
