Description

Successful candidates will spend 10 weeks working with our UK Qualifications Tech Division in the summer months, a new division that offers many opportunities to innovate, design, and build new products, operations, and customer relationships in an entrepreneurial setting.

Interns will develop a broad knowledge of Software Development Process within the Content Program at Pearson, working with teams developing, configuring, and testing systems and tools utilizing a variety of technologies.

Responsibilities

As a Software Developer, you will develop expertise in software engineering practices, working collaboratively with the development teams within the Content Program. You will be helping Pearson create and maintain software systems that support he the production of digital learning content utilizing modernized, team-oriented software development tools and practices. This consist of Modern UX designs, Microservice Architectures and Assessment Services.

Requirements

We look for Students pursuing a STEM degree (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) with software development or relevant work experience. We also look for Students pursuing a degree in computer science, cyber security, software engineering, information security, engineering, or technology.Students should also have a basic understanding of Cloud platforms, in particular AWS, Azure and/or Google. Experience in coding with Python or similar would be useful.Students should be a ‘people person’, well-rounded and happy to take on new challenges.A desire to learn and accept new challenges is important.Able to get to the designated Pearson worksite/office for this particular role. The role is hybrid which is generally 80% or so remote, working from home with the requirement to go into a Pearson office (as and when required).We are looking for students in the penultimate year of their degree.
