As a Graduate, you shall be a critical interface and work with all programme stakeholders on a proactive basis to ensure all commercial aspects of sub-contract programme management are achieved from procurement to interim and final contract agreement. You will ensure risks, issues, delays or potential additional costs are identified in advance and resolved in the most efficient way so as to prevent or mitigate any delay or disruption to the Subcontractor’s programme and the overall Ship build programme.

The role holder will be responsible for monitoring progress on site, carrying out measurements, measurement reviews and auditing of delivered quantities, and shall provide advice on all financial aspects of Subcontract management, ensuring that valuations are accurately assessed, challenged appropriately, certified and paid on time.

• Ensure commercial aspects of sub-contract programme management are achieved from procurement to interim and final contract agreement • Liaise with the Programme management team and provide advice and assistance on all matters relating to Contract Performance and Commercial issues• Work with Programme managers to plan, forecast and subsequently report project commercial performance.• Assist Programme Managers, as required, securing labour, materials and Sub-contractors to ensure that contracts are completed on time and within budget• Work with Programme Managers to maximize commercial benefit of all subcontracts and effectively manage contract changes• Assist in managing subcontractors accounts accurately and effectively to enhance contract performance• Monitor progress on site, carry out measurements, measurement reviews and audits of delivered quantities• Liaise with and advise on all financial aspects of subcontracts, ensuring that valuations are accurately assessed, challenged appropriately, certified and paid on time• Ensure that regular meetings are held to agree changes and applications, and ensure that the contractual timeframes are complied with. • Assist in ensuring that required notices are issued or responded to in accordance with NEC contract procedures and timescales• Monitor subcontractor forecasts of cost and value of all trades including Preliminaries, and report on same to ensure efficient delivery of the subcontract and Programme• Assist Programme Managers with performance evaluation against anticipated performance, and investigate reasons for variances in cost and value; • Report over measure or cost adjustments required to accurately represent performance; • Assist with early warnings, risk identification, management, mitigation and tracking• Ensure work is carried out in accordance with the Company’s Health and Safety Policy & Quality Manual• Carry out other tasks of a commercial nature as directed by the Supply Chain Manager and Senior Programme Manager

Requirements

As a minimum requirement you’ll need to have obtained, or be predicted to obtain, a 2.2 in your Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Quantity Surveying
