This placement would suit a final or penultimate year student, finalist or graduate. There is a broad array of activities that you could get involved in and specific tasks may include creating word documents/slide-decks/spreadsheets; data analysis; interpreting regulations; and supporting the delivery of workshops.
To succeed in this role, you should be a pragmatic thinker, a clear and concise communicator, and have excellent time management / organisational skills.
Area of Responsibilities
Responsibilities
During the placement you will work in a Business Assurance and Services support role. With guidance from Managers within the team, you may provide support to any business area / sector across the business on: identifying their key risks / necessary mitigations; rolling out e-learning modules to their teams; helping them renew a vital accreditation; conducting an audit that demonstrates any process deficiencies they should be aware of; creating a written process document; helping them navigate governance requirements / regulatory obligations; bringing any innovative ideas to fruition.
Requirements
You’ll have a genuine interest in SSE and the energy industry and should be excited by the prospect of a long-term future with us, as often candidates who join us on summer placements will join our Graduate Programmes after graduation.
In this role, you’ll ideally be on track to achieve a 2:2 level degree in a Business Management / Administration subject. Any related work experience would also be advantageous. You should also have good IT skills and be competent with all basic Microsoft packages, e.g. Word / Excel / PowerPoint.
