Rolling basis

Description

Working as part of our multi-disciplined teams, we have a range of opportunities for students to support projects across our Thermal business. SSE Thermal are developing ground-breaking carbon capture and storage projects, are progressing options across the hydrogen value chain, and play a critical role in delivering net-zero.

We're looking for students who can bring fresh ideas, new skills and creative thinking, to deliver innovative solutions to help us reach net zero. This is an exciting time to join SSE Thermal and our vision couldn’t be simpler: to be the leading provider of flexible energy in a net zero world. That means managing our business today to help keep the lights on while transforming our business to provide that same flexibility without the associated carbon emissions in the future.

Our Commercial and Engineering internships provide real hands-on experience through a 12-month placement. Opportunities are available within our Thermal Engineering and Asset Management team, business development team and gas storage site. Throughout the placement, you will have the support of a business mentor and buddy, who will provide guidance and support to enable you to reach your full potential. You will work on partnership initiatives, support negotiation of commercial agreements, conduct market and competitor analysis, support technology assessments and conduct a rich mix of research tasks.
