Description

The Business Development Intern will work within the business development team supporting major initiatives and, in particular, providing support to, and working closely with, the Regional Business Development Manager. Internally, the intern will have the opportunity of supporting key reporting and business development processes and discrete pieces of work to assess markets, opportunities or competitors.

Assists in special assignments of an analytical or information-gathering nature for M&BD staff, assessing new potential markets or opportunitiesAssists in the development of material for proposals or pitchesAssists in the preparation and monitoring of business development activity reports, screening reports and business unit pipeline updatesMaintains records of prospective projects and competitor informationSupports members of the M&BD team as required to deliver the region’s growth targetsEngages with prospective clients as required

Requirements

You do not need prior business development experience for this role, but you should have an interest in how to grow the business, strategy and commercials and a willingness to learn fast on the job. You will need:Strong verbal and written communication skills to develop key messages and reportsEffectiveness in using tools such as PowerPoint and Excel to support communication and analysisGood people skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with othersEffective skills in research and analysis and a problem-solving mindset
